KK,
Hello! Below is a link for a drug/ supplement checker if you are interested. However, Brinsupri is a new drug on the market and I don’t think that you will see many interactions recorded at this point in time. Please discuss further with your doctor to determine if the benefits of Brinsupri can outweigh the benefits of some of your vitamins and minerals.
This is a great question. Agree with Katie. Another thing that you can do is call one of the specialty pharmacies that are distributing Brinsupri. They should have a customer care line that should be able to find this information out for you.
I suggest taking your herbs and vitamins with you to your provider’s office for a discussion. This way, they can review all the ingredients and help ensure your safety. Since some vitamins and herbs can interact with medications, having an open conversation with your provider can help identify any potential concerns, so don’t hesitate to ask questions!
I added Brinsupri at the end of summer. So far, so good! If I recall, the product literature included lots of info about classes of medications that might interact. But as you probably know, researchers don't often test against non-FDA regulated substances like vitamins in their trials.
Amber Specialty pharmacy has been very thorough in onboarding me.
I am so glad that Amber Specialty Pharmacy has been thorough. It is very important to check potential interactions with vitamins and supplements.
Thank you, KK and Wheezy for you feedback. I haven’t started yet and I hope to read of someone that’s using it regarding the side effects. Please reach out if you can. I’m very undecided. Thanks in advance.
Mari,
You are most welcome! I am not taking Brinsupri at present. Every drug comes with benefits and risks. Does your Pulmonologist feel that the benefits may outweigh the risks for you? Do you have a specific question that Amber Specialty Pharmacy could answer?
