Hockeygirl771 Check-In 09/12/2025
I am newly diagnosed with bronchiectasis and have had antibiotics prescribed over the course of the past year when no one understood what I had. My Respirologist treatment for me is to take 2 puffs of Ventolin 3 x per day waiting 5 minutes after the Ventolin then using a Aerobika Device. I haven’t used the device yet because I
am concerned that it will worsen the fullness and pain I experience from eustation tube dysfunction in my ears. Does anyone use this device with success?

Hockeygirl771,Hello! I am glad you found our BNTM community. Unfortunately, many individuals are misdiagnosed and misunderstood for some time before they get the right diagnosis and treatment. I would suggest that your Ear Nose and Throat doctor should communicate with your pulmonologist regarding using your airway clearance device. In addition to the community support you receive here on BronchiectasisandNTM360, you can call one of our Patient Ambassadors directly by phone at (833) 411-5864. Our Ambassadors are real live patients with experiences similar to yours and understand what you are going through. You can also email us at contactus@bronchandntm.org to get more information about specific topics. Our Ambassadors can’t provide medical advice but may be able to assist you with additional information that you are interested in.
I haven’t been able to get a referral to an ENT. The wait list is a couple of years. I live in Ontario Canada.
Hockeygirl771,
I am sorry to hear about the long wait times to see an ENT. Is it easier to get an appointment with an audiologist ? How about your Pulmonologist speaking with your primary care doctor about this?
It is my Respirologist that said he did put a referral request in at the start of this year.
Hockeygirl,
I am sorry that it takes so long to see a specialist in your area.
